World Day of Prayer Activities:
Wednesday, Sept. 8th thru Thursday Sept. 9th:

Prayer and praying is a vital and necessary piece of a person’s spiritual development, but what is prayer exactly? How does it work? What happens if it doesn’t work? Does how you pray make a difference? And what is affirmative prayer anyway? These are some of the topics that Unity Church of Denver’s World Day of Prayer kick-off service will address.
On Wednesday, September 8, at 7 p.m. Trish Morris and Beverly McCutchon will facilitate an informal and open discussion about prayer. Then, participants will be invited to experience several different types of prayer practices. From affirmations, to praying with and for another, to creating a take-home Zen garden – each practice offers the opportunity to deepen your understanding and experience of the power of prayer.
At 8 p.m., our 24-hour prayer vigil, held simultaneously with Unity churches around the world, will begin with prayer chaplains holding in prayer the names of people in our community and around the world. Everyone is invited to participate in this meditative prayer time, held in the sanctuary and concluding at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 9th. We will close the event that evening with Dances of Universal Peace at 7pm!
You can participate by signing up to cover an hour of the Prayer Vigil and/or by adding names to the prayer list, you can add them to our list at the sign up area- or build your own list and drop it in the prayer box (outside of the meditation room).
